Why can't I find a rescue organisation in the directory?

There are over 850 awesome rescue organisations across the country that have been approved as PetRescue members and are listed in our national Rescue Directory

Here’s why a rescue organisation may not be showing up in the directory:

  • There's a spelling error. e.g. Dog Adoptions vs Dog Adoption, or Cats & dogs vs Cats and dogs
  • The group has asked for a temporary hold on their account to take a break. The best thing to do in such cases is to either wait until they’ve reactivated their account or check their website or social media pages to see if you can contact them directly.
  • The group is a new PetRescue member. Groups won’t show in the directory until they have listed pets for adoption.
  • The group has not adhered to PetRescue’s Membership Code of Ethics or the community guidelines and has had their account banned or removed.
  • The organisation is not a member of PetRescue. There are several organisations around the country who, for various reasons, do not use PetRescue to advertise their pets.
