What does it mean when a pet is 'on hold'

If a pet is marked On Hold, the rescue organisation is not currently taking new adoption applications for that pet.

This can happen while the organisation reviews enquiries, while a pet is on an adoption trial, or while the pet needs medical treatment or further behavioural assessment. Some profiles may include more information about why the pet is on hold.
