Can I volunteer with PetRescue?

PetRescue supports rescue organisations, shelters, vets, and pounds across the nation that list rescue pets for adoption on our website.

We're a small organisation and occasionally have volunteer positions come up, which we advertise on our LinkedIn page, our Facebook page, and our monthly newsletter, so be sure to follow us there!

The Vital Vollie Program

PetRescue's volunteer program welcomes a handful of passionate, animal-loving volunteers to work one on one with our dedicated team. These volunteers, known as Vital Vollies, assist us with our current programs and projects supporting our mission for every pet to be safe, respected, and loved. 

Vital Vollies are chosen based on various factors. When a volunteer opportunity arises, we check our volunteer register to find someone with the skills to suit the opportunity. We reach out to the individuals to start a conversation to see if the opportunity is a right fit and make sure they will enjoy the role. We also look at factors including availability and commitment over time.

Hands-on volunteering

Alternatively, if you're interested in doing something more 'hands-on' with animals, you may wish to contact some of our rescue group members that may have volunteer opportunities - a list of rescue groups and shelters can be found in our Rescue Directory, and you can search by your location to narrow down the results.
