"Upload failed" when uploading photo/video

If you're seeing an 'upload failed' error message when you attempt to add a photo or video to a pet listing, this may be due to:

  • The format of the video being uploaded, or
  • The browser you are using

Format of the video

Unfortunately, the PetRescue platform does not support uploading videos directly from youtube (or linking to them). The main reason for this is licensing and the fact that YouTube protects its videos from being redistributed to other platforms.
We may look into integrating with them better in the future but for now unfortunately you can't upload videos from a youtube link. A workaround to this might be to download the video from youtube studio and then upload that video to PetRescue. You can find out how to do that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcMdUjcq3eQ

The Browser

If you don't know what browse or version you're running, go to What Browser and find out.
If you're running Internet Explorer we strongly recommend downloading & installing Google Chrome - it's free, safe and vastly superior to Internet Explorer. Once you've downloaded Chrome, please use it to access PetRescue from now on, and you should be fine. You can download Google Chrome here.
If you're running a browser other than Internet Explorer and still experiencing this problem, please contact us using the link below detailing what error you're experiencing and what browser and device (mobile, mac, windows) you are using.
