Notify unsuccessful enquirers that your pet has been adopted

Hooray! Your pet has been adopted!

If you have received multiple enquiries for your pet, you can notify all enquirers at once with an automated message that your pet has found a new home. This is recommended as it saves you the trouble of individually contacting each enquirer and lets them know the pet has been rehomed so they can continue their search for a new friend.

Follow these three simple steps to send an automated message to all unsuccessful enquirers:

Step 1: Go to the pet’s profile and mark the pet as ‘Adopted’.

  • to update the pet's status as adopted, log in and go to Manage My Pets to find the pet listing that you wish to update.
  • once on the pet's listing, you will find the option of 'Update Status' at the top of their listing and details.
  • click on the drop-down, select the status you'd like to update to and click the 'Update Status' button.

Step 2: Send a bulk message to all the enquirers.

  • upon updating the pet's status, a pop-up will appear with a preview message to send to enquirers informing them that the pet has been adopted.
  • to send this message - first hit the big green button, which states, ‘Yes, notify unsuccessful enquirers.’

Step 3: Exclude the pet's new owner from the bulk message

  • another pop-up will then ask you to choose the adopter from the drop-down menu, which lists all the users who enquired about your pet (this is so we don’t send a notification to the new adopter!).
  • once you have selected the user who adopted your pet, click the button which states ‘Send notification’.

  • and with that - all unsuccessful enquirers are notified with an automated message in the same conversation window where they first enquired about your pet!

A bulk message to enquirers can also be used when a pet’s status is updated to ‘On hold’. Find out more about the bulk messaging feature here.
